Louisa Trackman is a social impact leader dedicated to building a more just and sustainable world at the intersection of gender equity and climate justice. As Executive Director of Creative Action Institute, a role she stepped into in April 2026 after nearly 15 years with the organization, she leads a global team working to catalyze community-driven solutions that advance gender equity and a sustainable planet.

At the heart of Creative Action Institute's model is a belief Louisa holds deeply: that leaders with the right tools can catalyze collective action, and collective action is imperative for transformative change. Creative Action Institute's programs in East African and Latin America strengthen the leadership capacity of approximately 500 grassroots leaders annually, who go on to drive contextualized, community-led change on issues ranging from girls' education and gender equality to climate action and species conservation, reaching thousands of additional people each year. Experiencing this multiplier effect, where investment in one leader ripples outward into entire communities, is what animates Louisa's work.

Beyond Creative Action Institute's core programs, Louisa together with her colleagues has partnered with organizations including USAID, FCDO, UNESCO-IICBA, VVOB, the Aga Khan Foundation, Room to Read, FAWE, and C40 Cities to design climate justice and gender-responsive pedagogy tools, curricula, and training packages for educators globally. These tools create lasting institutional change in classrooms and organizations across multiple countries.
Louisa holds a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy with a focus on Development Economics and Human Security from The Fletcher School at Tufts University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Human Rights, magna cum laude, from Barnard College, Columbia University.

She comes to the Mountaintop Fellowship at a defining moment, new to the Executive Director role, eager to deepen her own leadership capacity so she can strengthen the organization and its team. Louisa is committed to expanding Creative Action Institute's global reach by investing in more grassroots leaders who are driving change in communities around the world.
