Kris Yadah

What inspired you to join Mountaintop?

"What drew me to Mountaintop is the belief that communities already hold the answers to their own problems — they just need people who will listen, invest, and support local leaders to build on what they already know. Too often, success in a place like that can mean leaving and never coming back; Mountaintop flips that by backing leaders who choose to stay and build. I deeply resonate with that vision of a just, loving, and peaceful world built from the ground up."

Kris Yadah is a Program Assistant at Mountaintop International, where she supports Fellowship programs across alumni engagement, communications, Fellow recruitment and onboarding, and program delivery. She brings experience in program coordination, partnerships, and leadership development, along with a systems-thinking approach to connecting people, ideas, and processes in ways that help programs and people thrive.

Before joining Mountaintop International, Kris worked at Vantage Africa School of Leadership, where she supported leadership and executive education programs across Kenya and several other African countries. She coordinated programs serving more than 100 participants across multiple cohorts and supported over 20 workshops, webinars, and leadership development events. Her work included participant engagement, learning systems, communications, logistics, and stakeholder coordination, contributing to a 90% participant satisfaction rate. She also supported programs involving participants and partners across The Gambia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Namibia, South Sudan, Uganda, and Kenya.

Kris is passionate about organizational growth and expanding opportunities for young people. As Strategy and Growth Lead at Girls in Transition, she helped shape the organization’s growth strategy across alumni engagement, visibility, and internal systems. She worked closely with the team to identify opportunities, strengthen processes, and translate ideas into initiatives that expanded the organization’s reach and impact for girls and young women.

Kris holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies and Community Development from Kenyatta University and has completed professional training in Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Strategic Resource Mobilization.

At the heart of Kris’s work is a deep care for people and a belief in what becomes possible when individuals have the support, opportunities, and environments they need to thrive. She brings empathy, curiosity, and a systems-thinking lens to her work, paying attention to both people and the structures that shape their experiences.
