Phillip James Sayo is the Acting Managing Director of Harvest Integrated Research Organization (HiRO) in the Philippines, where he leads operations across the Philippines, Singapore, and Malaysia. He brings over sixteen years of experience in clinical research, with a career spanning clinical operations, project management, quality assurance, training, and monitoring across Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. At HiRO, he oversees multidisciplinary teams and complex research portfolios that support the delivery of high-quality clinical trials.
Phillip’s expertise spans a wide range of therapeutic areas, including oncology, psychiatry, infectious diseases, endocrinology, rheumatology, medical devices, and vaccines. He has served as project director for vaccine pipelines and led major research initiatives in infectious disease, psychiatry, and rheumatology, contributing to studies that strengthen clinical evidence and patient safety. From 2021 to 2023, he served as President of the Philippine Clinical Research Professionals and continues to engage in industry efforts that advance research quality and professional standards.
He holds a Postgraduate Medical Education in Clinical Research from Harvard Medical School. Through the Mountaintop Fellowship, Phillip aims to deepen his leadership practice and strengthen operational systems in clinical research, supporting the efficient development of safe and effective treatments for patients.
