Being Late or Missing Meetings

What Happened:  From September 2022 until December 2023, Mountaintop staff have on several occasions been more than a few minutes late to meetings, and on one or two occasions, have missed a meeting entirely. Through this behavior, Mountaintop has inconvenienced and sometimes disrespected its stakeholders.

How Mountaintop Responded: Mountaintop has worked to reduce the number of back-to-back meetings to reduce meetings spilling over into the next meeting time. Mountaintop has also worked to establish norms of checking the next day's calendar at the end of the day, and establishing a logistical plan to ensure that Mountaintop can be early or on time to each engagement.

Mountaintop's Learning and Commitment: Mountaintop has learned that it is best to focus on the quality than the quantity of stakeholder engagement, and that a day packed with meetings might reduce the positive outcomes of those meetings. Mountaintop is committed to building in more time for planning, breaks between meetings, and calendar scheduling to ensure that few if any stakeholders are inconvenienced in this manner in the future.
