What inspired you to join Mountaintop?
"What inspired me to join the Mountaintop Fellowship was the opportunity to grow alongside a community of passionate changemakers who are deeply committed to making a difference, as well as the unique chance to elevate my project and expand its impact in meaningful ways!"
Melissa Adanna Okeke is a recent graduate in International Trade from Ecuador, driven by a deep belief in the power of service to uplift, heal, and empower overlooked communities. Her journey began at the grassroots level — listening to stories, standing with those facing adversity, and witnessing firsthand how collective care can transform lives.
Through transformative experiences in programs such as the Future Nobel Laureates and the Aspire Leadership Program, Melissa has come to see change not as distant or unattainable, but as something rooted in empathy, active listening, and the courage to take action. These experiences reaffirmed her belief that even the smallest steps can create ripples of impact.
Melissa currently leads Todos a la Mesa, a community-rooted initiative founded on a simple yet powerful conviction: no one should be left behind. The movement works to restore dignity and cultivate a sense of belonging for individuals living in poverty and on the margins of society. Grounded in long-term commitment and trust, her work focuses on building meaningful relationships that empower communities to rise above systemic challenges and create lasting change.
As a Fellow with the Mountaintop Aspire Institute, Melissa is eager to deepen her impact, grow as a leader, and collaborate with a global network of changemakers. She brings with her the voices of her community, lived experience, and a heart ready to shape a more inclusive, compassionate, and human future for all.
