What inspired you to join Mountaintop?
“I joined the Mountaintop Business Executive Fellowship to deepen my leadership journey and amplify my mission of turning resilience into opportunity for young people across Liberia.”
Kenson V. Sarnoh Jr is a Liberian social entrepreneur and youth leader dedicated to creating pathways to opportunity through innovation, service, and inclusive economic growth. He is a 2025 Mandela Washington Fellow, 2022 Tony Elumelu Foundation Fellow, and 2022 ASPIRE Institute Fellow, as well as a Rotaractor and mentee of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Mentorship Program.
Kenson brings over seven years of experience in organizational development, project management, team leadership, coaching, mentoring, youth training, and capacity building. His work is grounded in a people-centered approach and a deep commitment to community-led impact.
His journey began through grassroots volunteerism with Rotary, where he supported underserved communities by providing school supplies, promoting sanitation, and advancing peace through cultural initiatives. These early experiences shaped his long-term vision for a healthier and more equitable Liberia.
While studying Human Resources Management at BlueCrest University College and serving as Special Assistant to Mrs. Mai Bright Urey, Kenson developed the foundation for his entrepreneurial path. In 2022, he founded Kenson Janitorial Services Incorporated (KJSI), a social enterprise providing professional, reliable, and eco-friendly cleaning services while creating employment and educational opportunities for Liberian youth.
Today, KJSI employs 29 young Liberians, including 17 students, and reinvests 30 percent of its profits into scholarships and school supplies for underprivileged youth. The enterprise addresses challenges at the intersection of poverty, education, and sanitation, demonstrating how business can be a vehicle for social change.
Kenson’s personal story, “The Broom That Built My Bridge,” reflects his resilience and determination. From leaving college due to financial hardship to building a purpose-driven enterprise, he has transformed adversity into action and continues to inspire others through leadership rooted in dignity, opportunity, and service.
