What inspired you to join Mountaintop?
"Social impact work is at its best when it is collaborative, and there is always more to learn from others doing this work in different communities and contexts. I joined the Mountaintop Fellowship because I’m excited to learn alongside people from around the world who are changing the world in unique, innovative ways."
Aoife Ryle is a social impact practitioner whose work focuses on building thoughtful, community-led solutions across sectors. As Principal of Development at Ivanhoe Development, she leads a national portfolio supporting nonprofits and public entities through strategic funding, program design, evaluation, and long-term planning.
A first-generation immigrant and first-generation college student, Aoife’s lived experiences have deeply shaped her commitment to social impact work. She believes communities already hold the answers to the challenges they face and that meaningful change comes through rectifying systemic issues and ensuring equitable access to resources. Her work is grounded in the belief that sustainable impact requires collaboration, humility, and a willingness to continuously learn.
Before joining Ivanhoe Development, Aoife served as Education Programs Manager at the Connecticut Science Center, where she led statewide STEM education and workforce development initiatives.
In addition to her professional work, Aoife serves as Commissioner, Treasurer, and Policy & Research Chair for the City of Richmond Human Rights Commission through which she provides recourse for residents and policy advisement. She currently serves as a Board member and/or steering committee member for multiple initiatives, including WomenRise, Impact100, and RUNNTENN. She has also provided on-the-ground support for international community-led water access efforts in Haiti and Tanzania.
Aoife is currently pursuing dual master’s degrees in Management and Business Administration at the University of Illinois as part of her commitment to lifelong learning and strengthening her ability to support mission-driven organizations.
