What inspired you to join Mountaintop?

"I have a lot of respect for organizations that don’t only trust young people with their vision but also give them the means to make it happen. It takes a lot of humility to do so—to trust—and that’s what the Mountaintop RIVET Fellowship is doing. Also, they came to me—which I was quite surprised about, as I’m not a notorious local leader. This really made me understand that Mountaintop truly cares about finding the people who are doing their best locally and are on their way to making a bigger impact. Local leaders are not necessarily global leaders, and I was inspired by the groundwork they are doing to find these less-known leaders, which is something that most aren’t doing."

Victoire Mandonnaud is the founder of On My Way, a catalytic platform for community-driven and climate-focused spontaneous action aligned with the SDGs. By connecting individuals, community leaders, NGOs, and foundations in real time, it bridges the information, logistical, and financial mismatches that are often a fact of life. In doing so, it also measures impact at the grassroots level, proving that providing the right tools to people can lead to great successes.

Deeply committed to promoting freedom of action at the local level from a young age—whether through social action, art, or entrepreneurship—Victoire has always sought alternatives to the way funds and actions are traditionally distributed: one-directionally and often confined to exclusive networks. Raised by self-taught entrepreneurs who lived by the motto, “the customer is always right,” Victoire is driven to create a political framework where “citizens are always right”—a system where people can identify issues, propose solutions, and mobilize resources collaboratively.

A graduate of Columbia University with a BA in Anthropology and an MIA in Economic Policy, Victoire is passionate about rethinking societal, political, and financial structures. She envisions On My Way as the infrastructure for a political system where citizen-to-citizen solidarity is at its peak, resources are allocated fairly and efficiently, and both vertical and horizontal support structures work in harmony to strengthen communities.

For this Fellowship, Victoire will lead a micro-granting experiment in the Morningside/Harlem neighborhood, offering small financial contributions to local leaders ready to take bold actions in their communities. This initiative will explore how real-time micro-granting can address spontaneous and urgent needs, serving as a prototype for broader application. Supported by her Global Shapers NYC Manhattan Hub team—part of the World Economic Forum—Victoire aims to root On My Way locally while testing its potential for global impact.

Beyond entrepreneurship, Victoire is also a painter, singer-songwriter, poet, and playwright. She has authored two plays, published two issues of The Generator Paper, and used art as a premise for policymaking. Her creative works can be explored at victoiremandonnaud.com, The Victories: The Very Best Of on Spotify, and thegeneratorpaper.com, showcasing her belief that art and innovation are essential for shaping impactful ideas.
