Growth Outpacing Capacity
What Happened: In the second half of 2025, we launched two new executive programs, the Business Executive Fellowship and the Social Impact Executive Fellowship. While these expansions may have been important from a financial sustainability perspective, the new programming put serious strain on an already overworked staff. This led to long hours and a regular sense of urgency for the programs team. This caused emotional distress and burnout.
Action and Learning: We placed a moratorium on confirming new partnerships in the first half of 2026, hired new programs staff, and have made staff wellbeing and development our number one priority for 2026. We have learned that even when new partnerships feel important and urgent, it won't be worth it if it risks the wellbeing of our people.
