Thompson Borh is a dedicated and impactful leader in social development and program management, with over 15 years of experience driving transformative initiatives across Liberia. Combining his expertise in agriculture, peacebuilding, and youth empowerment, Thompson has played a pivotal role in fostering sustainable growth and social cohesion within vulnerable communities.
As the Program Manager at the Network for Empowerment and Progressive Initiatives (NEPI), Thompson leads the implementation of the Sustainable Transformation of Youth in Liberia (STYL) program. He provides strategic oversight to a team of 21 field staff, ensuring the program effectively addresses youth challenges and promotes societal reintegration. His role includes designing detailed work plans, conducting capacity-building training, and managing the execution of interventions that have reshaped the lives of countless at-risk individuals.
Thompson’s career reflects a strong commitment to peacebuilding and social justice. During his tenure as Chief Trainer at NEPI, he trained over 32 communities in Lofa County in conflict resolution and violence prevention, empowering residents to address the root causes of disputes and break cycles of violence. His early work as a social worker reinforced his passion for creating pathways to reconciliation and development, as he supported reintegration efforts for ex-combatants and child soldiers.
In addition to his work in social development, Thompson has made significant contributions to Liberia’s agricultural sector. As a Senior Technician, he helped establish the country’s first Cocoa Research Seed Garden, advancing innovative agricultural practices and supporting local farmers. This intersection of agricultural expertise and social leadership highlights his multifaceted approach to development.
A graduate of the William R. Tolbert Jr. College of Agriculture and Forestry at the University of Liberia with a Bachelor of Science in General Agriculture, Thompson has continually built on his academic foundation with certifications in peacebuilding, conflict mediation, and sustainable cocoa production. These credentials, coupled with his extensive hands-on experience, have positioned him as a dynamic leader capable of addressing complex social and economic challenges.
As a Mountaintop Executive Fellow, Thompson will engage in specialized professional development to refine his strategic vision and expand the impact of NEPI’s programs. This fellowship will equip him with tools to scale transformative initiatives, foster stronger community engagement, and drive sustainable progress across Liberia.
